Call for Cosplayers

• Solo category participants will be evaluated based on Costume and Performance quality as listed below.

 

70% mark for Costume criteria:

– How well the costume is put together and all the parts securely attached;
– Right proportions and colors according to reference picture;
– Attention to details and accessories – accuracy;
– Different techniques and materials used;
– Overall costume finish – quality of hems, seams and lining;
– Make-Up and Wig quality.

 

30% mark for Performance criteria:

– Shows the essence of referenced character – expressions and movement;
– WOW factor – entertaining, funny for a comedy performance, unique scenario;
– Use of stage props and/or costume details to performance;
– Easy to undarstand with or without knowledge of the character.

 

Note: It is important to pick the category that represents participants skills the best. During evaluation highest mark for Costume will be based on selected category and costume type presented.

For example – if a participant in Make-Up and Wigs category has exceptionally well made body paint but clothing proportions according to reference image are wrong – the final score will be lower.

 

• Original Character category is dedicated for fan arts and unique costumes designed by contestants. Participants will be evaluated based on Costume and Performance quality as listed in Solo category above. In this category all costume types and their variations are accepted (armors, dresses, make-up etc.).

 

• Group category participants will be evaluated based on Costume and Performance quality as listed below.

 

60% mark for Costume criteria:

– How well the costumes are put together and all the parts securely attached;
– Correct proportions and colors according to reference picture;
– Attention to details and accessories – accuracy;
– Does the costumes blend in well with performance;
– Different techniques and materials used;
– Overall costume finish – quality of visible hems, seams and lining;
– Make-Up and Wig according to reference picture.

 

40% mark for Performance criteria:

– Shows the essence of referenced characters – expressions and movements;
– WOW factor – entertaining, funny for a comedy performance, unique scenario;
– Use of stage props and/or costume details to add visual interest;
– Easy to understand with or without knowledge of the characters;
– Shared energy between characters.

• For this competition costumes previously worn at other events are allowed to participate. But performance has to be entirely new.
• The costume registered in our competition must be mostly handmade with some altered pieces like tights, shoes and similar pieces. Bought costumes cannot enter this contest and will be eliminated in case of failure to comply. Bought costumes can attend Cosplay Catwalk. Registration will be available during event.
• It is strictly forbidden to use real guns, sharp swords, pyrotechnics and other items that raise risk to you and other guests. Anyone ignoring this rule will be removed from competition.
• Registered cosplayers are punctual and take full responsibility to be on time for their prejudge and time on stage. The graph showing at which time you must show up will be delivered after the registration closes.
• There will be a prejudging segment before performances for up to 2min. for each participant. The list will be published after every registration is confirmed.
• We will provide an opportunity to rehearse on stage before the show only for a limited period of time.
• Provide the phone number that you use daily so we can reach you quickly if any changes occur.
• The reference images and audio must be very good quality. Images must be up to 2MB and audio up to 5MB. Poor material will not be accepted.
• Solo performance duration must be less than 1min., group performance duration must be less than 2min.
• At least 50% of the costume must be complete at the time of registration so that it is recognizable.
• Performance and costume must be family friendly – which means no profanities, no showing off of skin (use skin colored bodysuit or tights), no glorification of violence and no gore.
• The registration is considered valid after receiving an approval from our team.
• Each participant is allowed to bring a helper. In case of helpers causing inconveniences in the dressing room – they will be asked to leave.
• The amount of registered performances is limited so do not wait for the last minute to deliver all necessary registration details.
• Same person with one costume can perform on stage up to two times. For example in one solo category and group category.
• Any liquids, paint, glitter, confetti or other materials that can stain the stage are forbidden.
• We can provide table or chair for your performance (let us know in registration form). Any other stage decorations must be set up by the performer and taken after event. Decorations should not take longer than 10 seconds to be in place for the performance.
• Judges will be speaking in english. If you do not speak this language – attach a text file describing your creating process.
